Nebraska Public Power District shares power failure before the winter storm before the winter storm

North Platte, Neb. (Knop) – Nebraska Public Power District shares advice about what can be done in the event of a power failure.

According to the National Weather Service in North Platte, wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour can be expected until Tuesday to Tuesday at the latest.

In the event of a power failure, NPPD found that your phone and other devices are fully charged before the storm.

Prepare an emergency emergency kit with non-playing pre-packed foods, water bottles, batteries and a flashlight.

An important step for the precaution is to fill your bathtub or bucket with water to rinse the toilet and wash your hands. Water bottles should only be used for drinking for hygienic reasons.

Create an emergency planning plan with your family.

Stay connected to local weather reports and your local public power supply company for updating power supply restoration.

When you see a dilapidated power line, stay away and call 911.
