Neighbor who ran to the residents in the Springfield House Fire Hospitalized | to help message

Springfield, ore. – A person who tried to help the residents of a burning house in Springfield was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries, and two dogs died in the fire this morning, said Eugene Springfield Fire Officer.

According to ESF, the fire brigade reacted to a reported house fire in the 40th Street in Springfield at 8:45 a.m. on March 6. A mother near the house said that she helped her child to prepare for school when she heard a loud pop, and then discovered a fire in front of a duplex. Firefighters said they arrived to find a big fire on one side of the duplex.







The ESF battalion chief at the scene said that a neighbor discovered the fire and put it in action to help. In the end, however, they suffered serious smoke in breathing and were taken to the hospital. Firefighters said two dogs also died in the fire. No further injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is examined.
