Neighbors support the Williamson County family according to the house fire

Nashville, Tenn. (WSMV) – A family Williamson County remains homeless after her home has been destroyed in a fire overnight.

While they embark on the careful journey of recovery, the members of the community gather behind them.

“You will need accommodation, you need clothes, food and furniture and you have to rebuild your life,” said neighbor Joann Barros.

Barros lives in the Laurelbrooke, where the fire took place on Monday evening.

“It is really devastating if it only rises in flames, despite all their hard work and all trucks and the number of firefighters,” said Barros.

While the crews work on containing the fire, Barros had the neighbors collect refuge in their house when they tried to save objects.

“They brought things out in pullers, pictures and we put them in the back of cars and garages so that they at least have something when they come home,” she said.

Williamson County's fire said that an outdoor fireplace caused the fire. Nevertheless, everyone made it safe, even a small child.

While the family has to find out the next steps, the neighbors swore themselves to support them on the way.

“It is very important that you know what's going on and take care of each other. That should be about this country,” said Barros.

The neighbors plan to collect donations together with other initiatives to support the family. As soon as these details have been completed, we will pass it on.
