A fire on Tuesday morning in Springfield panic for those who live on Carver Street. A resident told us that she heard a loud bang before shooting flames out of the house. “The flames started on the first floor and they started screaming the lady because she was on the second floor.

Eight people were driven out after the firePresent as well as several pets. Drew Piemonte, fire brigade captain of Springfield, told us that his crews had saved six dogs from the fire. He said a dog was still not taken into account while a cat and another dog died. No other injuries were reported. “There was a resident on the second floor who thought she was blind, so the crews went up there and put them down.

Piemonte told us given the size of the flames that the situation could have been much worse. He said the fire was caused by improper disposal of smoke materials and the wind drove the flames, but he said that luckily the responding firefighters were well trained and prepared. “Everything depends on initial strategies and tactics that were initiated by the first answering companies today.

All eight displaced people are supported by the Red Cross.
