Nelson Bindes Record as' caps dominate the MLS Opener

February 23, 2025 – Major League Soccer (MLS)
Vancouver Whitecaps FC press release

Portland, or -it was a familiar sight in the Providence Park for Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Sunday, when Caps 4: 1 winner over the Cascadia -Rival Portland Timbers in a season -up with 4: 1 to remember.

Whitecaps FC started the game with a lot of attack intentions and tested Maxime Crépeau within three minutes when Brian White was found alone in the box, but the American had saved his shot from the former goalkeeper of caps.

WHITE would take the middle of the level less than 10 minutes later after being sent after Ryan Gauld's clean goal, with the Kamal Miller received its marching commands in Portland to refuse a clear place of evaluation.

With the additional man from the man in their favor, the caps began to turn the screw. Gauld had a great shot from the edge of the box of Crépeau after 18 minutes, but the Scots would not be refused six minutes later. After the newcomer Jayden Nelson caught a kick from Crépeau, he drove into the box and took a perfect passport for Gauld to end a shot past the crépeau diver and send the wrong way for 1-0.

The caps then doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute by Pedro Vite. The Ecuadorian found a place in the right corner of the box after a Bakelson from Nelson and sent a breathtaking curly shot that was in the extreme side netting and did not give Crépeau a chance.

Right at the end of half, Gauld was denied after a great game by White in the Box directly in front of the goal, but the caps would go into the break with two goals – and a man – for a good break.

After the break, Nelson, who already had two templates, made almost three after only two minutes. The wing player danced back into the box and cut a pass right in front of the goal for White, but the American's shot shot on the wrong side of the almost post. However, Nelson would not have to wait much longer for this third support, since he set up Addecahbe in the 53rd minute for the third of the capsule. The Canadian international switched on the jets and sprinted the entire length of the field on a counterattack before setting up his Canadian colleague with a tap-in to achieve it with 3-0.

Nelson wouldn't stop here either. After the man at the moment had set up his teammates for three goals, he went on a dizzying solo run in the 61st minute before he had completed him for four o'clock to Crépeau and an outstanding Whitecaps FC MLS debut.

However, Portland managed to achieve a consolation goal through Antony in the 73rd minute and to benefit from a happy distraction in the box to bring them back to 4: 1.

Sebastian Berhalter achieved almost five for Whitecaps FC in the 78th minute and achieved a rocket of a free kick and forced Timbers' keeper Crépeau to save at full stretch.

The caps managed to put the ball into the back of the network in the 86th minute after the Rango Veselinović, which nodded from Ali Ahmed to a cross, but the goal was called back for a suspected foul during the construction.

This would prove to be the last big action of the game, as the caps took all three points home when the Jesper Sørensen -ära began with a bang.

Whitecaps FC is now returning home for a number of home games at BC Place.
