Nevada basketball makes a rare rival UNG

On weekday morning, Nevada Sports Net will repeat three large headlines of the day in his morning download. Read below for today's topics.

1. Nevada basketball is aimed at Sweep of UNLV

The Nevada men's basketball team will play at UNLV this evening at 8 p.m. and search for a rebel. The Wolf Pack won the first Matchup between the teams, 71-65, in Reno, although both teams are missed important players for the removal. The leading goal scorer from UNLV, Dedan Thomas Jr., missed the last two games with a shoulder injury with his status for strangers tonight. Wing Tre Coleman (hand) is out for Nevada, while Daniel Foster (ankle) is questionable. The Wolf Pack swept UNG last season and marked the 10th time in rivalry history, in which the rebels were beaten twice in one season, six of them since 2016-17. UnlV has completed a two-game swey from Nevada 18 times, but only three times since 1993. Here are the two-game swetsps in the history of the game:

Nevada Sweeps (10): 1961-62; 1965-66; 1994-95; 2013-14; 2016-17; 2018-19; 2019-20; 2020-21; 2020-21; 2023-24

UnlV Sweeps (18): 1962-63; 1966-67; 1967-68; 1968-69; 1969-70; 1971-72; 1973-74; 1974-75; 1975-76; 1979-80; 1982-83; 1983-84; 1985-86; 1986-87; 1992-93; 2012-13; 2021-22; 2022-23

Nevada is a 2.5 point street favorite with a total of 132.5. This game will be great from a perspective of the Mountain West tournament with UNLV (9-8 in the MW) and Nevada (8-9) that fight for the sixth seeds. The team would bring a wolf -pack victory to the MW rating, with Nevada having the tie -breaker. A UNLV victory would give the rebels with two games a lead in the MW rating in the MW classification. Both teams are against New Mexico and San Diego State last week of the regular season. The game is broadcast on FS1.

2. Nevadas Kitan Crawford in action at NFL Combine

For the first time since the 2022 NFL Combine, the Wolf Pack will have a participant among the largest scouting event in the NFL season. Safety Kitan Crawford will take part in exercises today when the focus is on defensive back and tight ends. Crawford played four seasons for Texas before moving to Nevada last year, and recorded career test numbers, which contained 76 duels, three duels against losses, seven defense, two interceptions, a fumbling, a fiddling recovery and a touchdown. Crawford played in the Hula Bowl show case, where he recorded a choice. Crawford is a potential draft pick of the late round. The combine harvester begins at 12 p.m. Pacific and can be viewed online. I am excited to see whether Crawford can threaten the fastest 40 yard dash time for a Nevada player at The Combine, a brand that is currently held by Dontay Moch (4.40 seconds).

3 .. Nevada baseball, softball again in action

The Wolf Pack Baseball team will open a series with four games with Northern Colorado in Peccole Park from today at 2:05 p.m. Northern Colorado was selected to finally come to an end in the six-team survey of the pre-season Summit League, and is 4: 4 in total. This included the division of a four-game series in New Mexico of the MW last week. In the meantime, Nevada Softball returns to the campaign in the Capital Classic in Sacramento with games against Santa Clara (lunch) and Sacramento State (2:30 p.m.). The Wolf Pack plays both teams another time with a single game against UC Davis as part of its three -day schedule of five games. Nevada is 11-4 because it tries to build its RPI that has not yet been published because the NCAA enables the teams to first build a bank of games. Nevada has the early estimate by Warren Nolan at 51 in the RPI.
