Nevada Football hired Bobby Merritt as the next GM

Reno, Nevada (Kolo) – Nevada Football announced on Wednesday that they have hired College Football Scout Bobby Merritt as the next general manager.

Merritt is commissioned with the squad, sales participation and problems of the wolf package in connection with the zero.

Both he and head coach Jeff Choate were in Texas employees from 2022 to 2023. Most recently, in 2024 he worked as an executive director of Rice Scouting.

“I have the feeling that this is a Homerun area for us. Bobby is a guy who has an NFL and CFL front office experience and worked in the Nile and Sales Cap World in Texas and most recently at Rice. Having a man with his level of experience who understands how a cap works and an extraordinary rating of the talent is a must in modern football. You must have someone who focuses on binding, duty roster development, duty roster management and administration of your CAP number, regardless of this number, with revenue participations and zero. We look forward to having Bobby on board. “

Merrit started his career at the Detroit Lions, where he worked as a scout from 2003 to 2007. He then went to the Houston Texans, where he worked as a lead scout from 2007 to 2015.

“Entry to this football staff and team in Nevada is an opportunity for me to professionally give added value for a program that is for a return to awareness, while I personally do for a head coach for whom I have the greatest respect as a man, coach and leader of men,” said Merritt. “The authenticity with which Jeff lives and with which I live and with which I want to surround myself. And it is a bonus to be back with employees that I like during the collaboration in Texas. “
