Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of participants

David Corenswet leaked a new picture as a Superman in the upcoming DCU film, and as always, the fans seem to be divided into the middle whether they make it safer about the upcoming film or not. Some say it only makes them excited, while others only have ugly things to say.

The picture seems to be part of a day that is connected to the film of promotional items. We see Corenswet up from the trunks and the picture is clearly digital. Nevertheless, at this point it is one of the few pictures we have from Corenswet as a Superman from the front, without burns or blood and with a stationary core wet.

On the one hand, there are fans who seem to be enthusiastic about the new picture.

On the other hand, there are those who see the new picture as more evidence that “Superman” is already a failure.

In view of a large part of the online discussion around “Superman”, it is difficult to imagine that a lot of negative reaction comes from fans who still hope that Henry Cavill will somehow restore again as Superman and Zack Snyder's “Snyder verses”.

“Superman” is written and staged by James Gunn, co-boss of DC Studios. The film plays David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosahhan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Edi Gathegi also appears as Michael Holt/Mister, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. and Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.

A lot about the film is still kept under closure, including the plot and the cast. For example, Alan Tudyk will appear in the film, but so far his role has been secret. In view of the language work that Tudyk has done in the past, the opportunities for his casting are quite limitless.

A lot goes to “Superman”. As the first film of the new DCU, everything that follows depends on the success of James Gunn's film. While Gunn proved what he could do with all the three “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, Superman's character is much different from the outsiders of the Marvel films.

“Superman” hits the cinemas on July 11th.
