Eight -year -old throws first place at the Red Sox Game

Hooters teamed up with Valerie's house to choose a local 8-year-old to throw the first playing field during a baseball game for spring training. Christian Bernard threw first place at the Boston Red Sox game on March 1.

“In every spring training, we enjoy the opportunity to sponsor the activities of the game day and to distribute themselves with children from our community partners with children,” said Hooters from South Florida Director of Marketing Kristi Quarles.

Bernard was accompanied by several Hooters girls from Fort Myers Hooters in the field.

“The children throw the first place in the field and cheer them on, is always a favorite of the Hooters Girls, Hootie, our shop managers and all fans who are present,” said Quarles.

Hooters has been working with Valerie's House for many years, including monthly visits to Fort Myers and Port Charlotte Hooters employees and Friendraisers in the shops.

Hooters is an official sponsor for MLB teams with spring training programs in Fort Myers and Bradenton. Hooters sponsors the Minnesota Twins in Fort Myers, the Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers and the Pittsburgh Pirates in Bradenton.

FGCU -Triumph at the International Templeton Business Ethics Case Competition

The Lutgert College of Business Ethics Case Competition team from Gulf Coast University recently took part in the Templeton Business Ethics Case Competition, which was organized by the always University. Teams from Canada, Mexico and various American universities took part in this international competition.

The FGCU team consisted of the students Nicholas Battie, Michaela O'Brien, Kennedy Owens and Rex Weese. Owens said: “This opportunity brought me out of my comfort zone in many ways and was an incredible educational experience.”

Weese said: “I am very proud of the work and effort that our team brought into the Templeton Ethics case.

The FGCU team came up with its best end, won its division and took the third place overall, directly behind the Providence College. The team created a comprehensive analysis for NASCAR in relation to Dei guidelines that culminated in presentations in front of NASCAR managers.
