The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct may be a few weeks away, but that has not prevented the fans of eagle eyes from recognizing new details about the upcoming device.

After the latest leak, the Nintendo Switch 2 will bring back a popular function of the latest Nintendo consoles.

Based on a new FCC registration, the Nintendo Switch 2 will support the same NFC technology (near Field Communication) used by Wii U, 3DS and original Nintendo Switch.

It is not a big surprise, but it means that Nintendo Switch 2 users will be able to use Amiibo figures in supported games again.

The submission also indicates that Nintendo will continue to publish new Amiibo numbers for top-class first-time publications.

The thumb crossed Nintendo reveals some new Amiibo numbers during the Nintendo Direct presentation on April 2.

Amiibo numbers were first introduced in 2014, at a time when the Wii U had difficulties to make a name in retail.

The use of amiibo numbers with supported games often offers exclusive bonuses in the game such as power-ups and costumes.
