No. 3 Notre Dame Women lose the second game in a row, fall in 24th place Florida State 86-81

South Bend, Ind. (Wndu) -The basketball team of the Notre Dame -Basketball fell on Thursday evening its second game in a row and fell in 24 Florida State 86-81 at home.

After number 3 against Irish (24: 4, 15: 2 ACC) in the Cayman Islands Classic had won 19 games in a row for the first time since the end of November and won number 1 in the country.

The Irish led 23-14 after the first quarter, but the Seminols (23-6, 13-4 ACC) stormed back with a second quarter of 30 points to achieve half of a lead of 44: 40.

Notre Dame briefly took over the lead over half of the third quarter, but the state of Florida took it back a short time later and never gave it up.

The loss means that Notre Dame is now connected to the NC state for leadership in the ACC classification after the Irish only looked like a shoe for number 1 in the ACC tournament a week ago. The Wolfpack, which defeated the Irish last Sunday, are now a victory before winning the ACC title season and No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

Sonia Citron led the Irish with 21 points against Florida State, while Liatu King had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Hannah Hidalgo scored 16 points and Olivia Miles added 10.

This Sunday will end Notre Dame at home against the regular season against No. 25 against Louisville. Tipoff is set to EST at 12 noon.
