No, Tesla did not start a FSD rollout in China

On February 25, Tesla China published the OTA update 2024.45.32.12 software. Chinese outlet speculates that the FSD could avoid in China later in 2025, which was previously announced by Elon Musk by Tesla when calling for a profit.

The update enables NOA to end ramps and intersections according to the navigation route. It can also recognize traffic signals, turn left or right and make a U -turn. Updated NOA automatically moves the lanes in response to speed and the selected route. If no navigation route is set, the optimal path is determined using road data in real time. In the United States, however, it cannot carry out full self -experience as a FSD.

The update also activates the cabin camera over the rearview mirror to monitor whether the driver is aware of. The company points out that all camera recordings are processed locally in the vehicle and that no Tesla or another party can access the data.

Chinese users have been able to pre-order the FSD package since 2022, but it does not use it-only is limited to basic NOA functions. Therefore, the current NOA update, which some media calls “FSD”, is only available to Tesla owners who have preceded the FSD. The price of the FSD package in China is 64,000 Yuan ($ 8,800).

In addition, according to today's NOA update rollout, Tesla named the name FSD package. It was previously only referred to as “FSD”, now called “FSD 智能辅助驾驶”, which means intelligently supported driving as a FSD and probably downturns the “full self -driver” part of the name for the regulatory authority.

The update is currently only available for vehicles that are equipped with HW4 hardware. This means that from February 2024 it is limited to model Y and 3, and the new model S/X. The OTA update is pressed into batches, starting with a small number of vehicles today.

Comment from the publisher

Tesla wants to start the FSD in China. Due to a lack of training data, the ban to send data for the processing outside of China and other regulatory hurdles, the company undertook this middle ground as the first step towards the Chinese FSD start. The Tesla China team still seems to find out how best to deal with regulation. We will keep an eye on it.
