NOPD announces preliminary crime statistics for February 23 to March 1, 2025

The following is a weekly report on the urban crime statistics created by the NOPD Analytics unit for the period from February 23 to March 1, 2025.

Remarkable arrests made

During the listed week, the NOPD also made the following remarkable arrests:

• On February 28th, the NOPD Anthony Berry (Black Male, DOB: 02-16-2986) arrested in connection with several automatic break-ins and a car theft, all of which occur in the eighth district. He was also booked with theft of a firearm.

Arms (arrests under 14:95 and sub-items)

To date, the NOPD has made 57 arrests for illegal possession of a firearm. This is a withdrawal of 64 percent compared to 154 arrests in the same period in 2024.

Weapon attacks

In addition, the NOPD confiscated 224 firearms in criminal investigations from February 18, which decreased in the same period in 2024 to a decline of 54 percent compared to 488 such seizures.
