North Carolina, Xavier, CSU on the bubble

Welcome to College basketball championship week! With Selection Sunday Official days and not weeks, away, Sports illustrated Brings you daily (and sometimes hour) updates to the projected area when the results of the conference tournament go into. From automatic offers that are locked up in the Power Leagues in smaller conferences to important bladder battles, we keep them up to date with all the news and notes to prepare them for the bracket decorations on Sunday evening.

Here is a look at the latest projected men's field.

Last four byes:

Vanderbilt Commodores
Baylorbären
West Virginia Mountainers
Arkansa's razibacks

Last four in:

Indiana Hoosiers
Aztecs of the state of San Diego
Texas Longhorns
Boise State Broncos

First four from:

Xavier Musketeers
North Carolina Tar Heels
Colorado State Rams
UC IRVINE BISTADERS

Next four from:

Ohio State Buckeyes
Dayton flyer
Wake Forest Demon Diakone
North Texas means green

The margins are increasingly narrower between the seven teams to fight the last four places in the field. Three of the last four on Thursday in Lost ThursdayWhile the first three teams from the projected field won (all quad -1- or quad -2 games). The biggest loser on Thursday: Xavier, who missed a gold chance, add a second quad -1 victory and will watch from home instead, since some of the teams around him have additional chances in big victories. The state of Indiana and San Diego are also on the sidelines, and each have defects that they could finally miss: Indiana with only two wins opposite the field, SDSU with weak quality metrics and a quad -3 loss against UNLV.

It is advisable not to overreact the results of the conference tournament based on the earlier history of the committee, but there is no question that Texas has helped a ton with Quad 1 and Vanderbilt this week. As a reference, these are more victories against the top quadrant in 36 hours than North Carolina, Xavier or Colorado State all over the season. Boise State also moved the needle with a win against the Bubble team in San Diego, but that may not be enough to keep them in the field if they lose new Mexico on Friday. When he entered the week, it felt like the Colorado State was enough for its first two Mountain West tournament games, regardless of what happens on Saturday in the championship, but when others win, the more secure bet feels to secure the automatic offer.

And then there is North Carolina, who has his third Knack at Duke on Friday and will get that Blue Devils short -handed with Cooper Flag, almost certainly failed. That should be of little importance for the selection committee; Win and the Tar Heels are in, lose and it will be difficult to justify their admission to the field.

VCU against St. Bonaventure, 11:30 a.m.
Texas against Tennessee, 3:30 p.m.
North Carolina against Duke, 7 p.m.
UC San Diego against UC Santa Barbara, 9 p.m.
Boise State vs. New Mexico, 9:30 p.m.
Colorado State vs. Utah State, 12:00 p.m. ET Saturday

This list contains a few potential bubble teams that currently occupy places in this area, such as the forecast automatic qualifications: VCU in the A-10, UC San Diego in Big West. Since things are on Friday morning, both teams are above the larger cutting line on the seed list, but this could very much change by loss of a below -average opponent, as both Friday. Bubble teams should be rooted as few chaos as possible and no other teams are added to the mix.
