North-Texas School district to draw for the four-day week of class-NBC 5 Dallas-Fort value

The Kennedale ISD will pass a four -day week of class from next year.

The school authority approved the four -day week during the board meeting on Wednesday evening. A new academic calendar for the school year 2025-2026 shows the autumn semester, which starts with a five-day week of class from August 12 and the four-day week of class when the spring semester begins on January 6, 2026.

As soon as it comes into force, the students visit the courses from Tuesday to Friday. In order to accommodate the shorter lesson week, school days for pupils and employees up to 15 minutes will be a little longer.

The district is closed to most Monday, although some are reserved for holidays and working days for personnel development/teachers. The district said they were working on securing the childcare options for students on Mondays if the school is not in the meeting.

“For students in our EA courses, an option provided by the district will be available. We will also work with community organizations to ensure that students who experience food shortages continue to have access to additional foods over the longer weekend,” said the district.

The shorter lesson week is part of a 2.5 -year pilot program. The district said that the board had approved the program after several meetings of the District Educational Improvement Committee, comprehensive studies on the effects of a four -day week and surveys by parents, students and employees.

“As more districts in the entire state transition to this model, Kennedale ISD are proactive in connection with the recruitment and storage of employees, the commitment of students and the balance between employees, students and their families.
