Notus and the Allbritton Journalism Institute work with a group of local news editorial offices across the country to provide their readers critical accountability from Washington.

Supported by a grant of $ 500,000 of the Google News Initiative, the Aji Notus Washington Bureau Initiative Enables readers in local communities the reporting that they need to understand to understand what their elected representatives do in the congress – and how the measures of the congress, the white house and the federal authorities affect their lives.

The journalism created as part of the initiative will appear on notus.org and on the websites of the local news partners. They are:

Tim Griev, the editor -in -chief of Notus and Executive Director of Aji, said that these newsrooms were selected for the pilot program because they are very cooperative, independent and in close contact with their communities.

“In just one year, Notus has established itself as an impartial news source, which is read and familiar in Washington by members of the Congress, officials from the White House and other insiders,” said Grieve. “We are happy to work with great local news editorial offices to expand the reach of our journalism and help voters at home to keep an eye on their representatives and their government.”

The Allbritton Journalism Institute is a non -profit educational organization that was launched in 2023 by Robert Allbritton, the former publisher of Politico. Aji trains aspiring journalists from all over the country through a mixture of classrooms in the classroom and in real experience, in which the news page AJI started in January 2024.

Every participating local news room will invest financially on the initiative to cover some reporting costs. In addition to the Google News Initiative, the Washington Bureau initiative will enable Henry L. Kimelman Family Foundation and the Sandpiper Fund to be founded by founding Allbritton Foundation, Henry L. Kimelman Foundation.

Every participating local news room will also invest financially on the initiative to cover some reporting costs. Managers in the news editorial offices say that the initiative will help you provide you with messages that your readers have to understand for Washington.

“The opportunity for the Oklahoma Watch, exclusive Capitol Hill reporting on questions that are of crucial importance for our state is an important step that benefits all Oklahomans,” said Ted Streuli, Managing Director of Oklahoma Watch.
