Nvidia RTX 5070 Performance Lecks do not impress the Green team

The RTX 5000 GPU start from Nvidia is not over to disappoint the Green Faithful team. The RTX 5070, Nvidia's delayed mid -range “Blackwell” GPU, is expected to be launched on March 5, and a small piece of performance information is carried out because the reviewers are busy testing the GPUs.

Nvidia's starting problems are deepened by missing rops

As stated at the weekend and reported by Toms Hardware, some of the Nvidia -RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti GPUS ROPS are missing.

ROPS – also known as a render output units or raster farm pipeline – are of crucial importance for the performance of a GPU. You should not fluctuate from different maps from different manufacturers because they are part of the actual GPU chip. It indicates a problem with the actual NVIDIA chips GB202 and GB203 that are used in the new Blackwell cards.

Since users recognize up to 8 absent ROPs in their GPUs, this is not an insignificant problem. Tom's hardware received an answer from an NVIDIA representative on this topic:

We have identified a rare problem that affects less than 0.5% (half a percent) of GeForce RTX 5090 / 5090D and 5070 Ti GPUs, which have more than specified a rope. The average effect of the graphic performance is 4%, without effects on AI and calculation of workloads. The consumers concerned can contact the board manufacturer to get an exchange. The production anomaly was corrected.

Nvidia's answer to Toms Hardware indicates that GPUs only have a missing ROP, but this is clearly not the case for all users. Some have shown a higher number.

Nvidia immediately ate the topic of the problem and offered the affected customers a clear way to exchange their faulty cards. However, this only serves to deepen share lack that are already serious.

Now, with the leaked performance of RTX 5070, people are piling up with some serious funny quotations. An Nvidia Subreddit user joked: “So it is like a 5070 Ti with 8 missing rops.” I can't argue with it.

It is expected that the RTX 5070 will achieve a lower performance than the RTX 5070 Ti siblings, but I don't think anyone expects a difference of 20%. We have to wait for complete reviews to get a better idea of the situation, but these CES promises of the RTX 4090 performance from the 549 dollar -RTX 5070 are not good.

Mix this news with melting cables, high prices, faulty Nvidia drivers, lack of availability and missing 32-bit Physx support (I lack something?) And you can see why Nvidia gets so much flak.

The decision of AMD to delay the official announcement and the start of its new RDNA 4 GPUS looks better and better. Nothing happens practically until the start data from Navida, so Nvidia can damage herself all by itself.

AMD still has many ways to quit and start its unveiling. If it hopes to be successful to ignore all current problems from Nvidia-there must be shares for purchase, competitive pricing and solid performance to compete with Nvidia's mid-range GPUs.

As reported by VideoCardz, AMD in his Radeon RX 9070 XT targets an output of 42% compared to the last generation RX 7900 GRE. This should put it over the RTX 5070, although some Geekbench performance leaks suggest in other ways.

Like the 5070 Ti, Radeon RX 9070 XT Geekbench results have also appeared. The GPU reached 179.178 in OpenCl and 177,395 in Vulkan.

In the end there is too much in the air to confirm anything. As soon as the last Radeon drivers are present and AMD officially presented his new GPUS, we will all have a much better idea of what the PC -Gaming landscape will look like in the next few years.

Until then, I can only hope that Nvidia will come together and AMD comes out with a real competition.
