NYC Buzz Builds: Canelo scull press conference Morning Markings Start of the undisputed championship trip

The super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and William Scull will hold a press conference tomorrow, March 6th, in the Radio City Music Hall in New York City to advertise their undisputed 168 pound championship in Riad on May 3.

Street to Crawford

Scull is Canelo's attitude to prepare him for his fight against Terence Crawford on September 13th. Alvarez also needs Scull to hold his belt to keep the undisputed championship when he faces Crawford (41-0, 31 KOS).

The press conference on Thursday begins at 6:00 p.m. It is unclear how you will market the Canelo Cull fight to fans in the USA does not speak English and is not known, and the fans who know that he is only a champion in the name. He is a belt owner and that is his only value.

Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba will fight with heavyweight on the sub -card. Depending on who else is on the menu, this fight could easily steal the show. Canelo has to increase his game from his last two fights against Jaime Munguia and Edgar Barlanga. In both competitions, Canelo dismissed after four rounds and has a lot of necessary punishment against candidates that David Benavidez or David Morrell had wiped out.

Retirement tour?

I hate saying it, but there is literally no demand for this fight. Turki Alalshikh would have brought Canelo's feet into the fire and forced him to combat someone the fans want to see instead of this guy.

Canelo is now so rich, with his esteemed assets of 250 million US dollars that he no longer has hunger to take the risky fights that fans want to see. He is like an acting soldier who has left the front lines and does not want a part of the fight. Alvarez shows signs of combat fatigue and basically decides to stay in the back, to clean and cook rifles. That is what struggles.

Some believe that this is only a part of Alvarez 'retirement tour to ensure that he always wins until he stops his gloves. Although the Cuban Scull is unbeaten and technically speaking, it looked worse than terrible and scored his title with a lack of 12-round decision win against Vladimir Shishkin on October 19 last year in Stadthalle, Falkensee, Germany.

Many fans, including this writer, thought that Shishkin deserved to win this fight. I saw Shishkin won 10-2. Scull is slow, weak and has a low work rate. As he looked in this fight, he would have lost against Canelo's last two opponents Edgar Berlanga and Jaime Munguia.

Having all four belts on the line will be one of the sales arguments for the Canelo Crawford fight. It enables Crawford to try to become an undisputed champion with three divisions. Casual boxing fans do not care whether it is one or four belts at stake for the Canelo Crawford fight, and the hardcore fans do not see it as useful. It would be better if there were no belts on the line for the Canelo fight against Crawford. Make it an exhibition
