On today's date: Midwest Winter Warm Records Smell

As we see a large part of the nation this week, the heat pale compared to what happened last February.

On February 26, 2024, today a year ago, a two-day warm magic, according to the NOAA statistics in the middle section of the country, destroyed 373 monthly high-temperature recordings (both highs and warm lows) in the middle section of the country.

Five states gang or set up their warmest February temperatures. This included 90-degree heights in Texarkana, Arkansas and Van Buren, Missouri. It pushed into the 1970s to the northeast -Wisconsin, a February first in this region.

At least 56 cities with data have had or have been determined not only for February, but for every winter day from December to February. Grand Rapids (73) and Saginaw, Michigan (73), each had their first winter day in the 70s.

It was warm enough for a Kool AID stand, even a swimsuit in the Western Great Lakes during this record event. The temperatures in parts of the middle west felt more like mid to May and in Texas as in mid -June to July.
