Operation Lucky Charms on the busy St. Patrick's Day Weekend

Port Wentworth, Ga. (WTOC) – If most people think about happy stimuli, you probably think of a fun muesli that you can find in your cabinet, but the police from Port Wentworth want you to know that Operation Lucky Charms is not going for a muesli.

It's about driving drunk and ruthless while the city goes to a busy weekend of St. Patrick's Day.

GA-21 is already full of cars.

“Our biggest focus is on ensuring the motoring and making sure of its goals,” said SGT. Michael Gonzales, Port Wentworth Police Department.

Sergeant Michael Gonzales is a civil servant at the Port Wentworth police.

He started early when thousands made their way to the coastal empire for the parade and celebration of St. Patrick's Day 2016.

“We bring in additional civil servants to carry out the traffic enforcement on the streets as well as some security controls,” said Gonzales. “We focus on the attention of people on driving. We want to lower these crashes and statistically showed a certain improvement. “

Sargeant Gonzales says that security is first -class and wants the people behind the steering wheel to look for others.

He encourages the proportion and the designated drivers.

“Drive safely if you take part in anything, use the resources we have talked about,” said Gonzales. “We now have cat bus in our city. There are countless things to do than drink and drive. Just be safe, have a good weekend. “

The police department says that these additional efforts will end on Friday, 14th and 17th.
