Oscars Watch Party, which is organized by the Malibu Film Society in the Ollo Restaurant, collects donations for Palisades fire -survivors

Malibu, California (KABC) – With all the eyes on Hollywood on Sunday evening, the survivors of Wildfire took part in a special Oscars Watch party and a fundraiser from the Malibu Film Society.

Many of those who saw the award ceremony in the famous Ollo restaurant in Malibus lost their houses for the Palisades Fire, but they still felt forced to get out and support the charity.

“As one of them who has lost everything, I know that even a clean T-shirt means everything in these moments,” said Valentina Castellani Quinn, who has lost fire at home in Palisades.

Quinn informed video with eyewitness messages how the catastrophic damage showed near her quarter in Malibu. Survivors were overwhelmed by so much loss.

“It is so important for one, connect with the community again and know that the community is there for them,” said Scott Tallal from the Malibu Film Society.

The organizers of the event opted for the annual watch party in Ollo. It is one of the many companies that see a slowdown with customers after the fire.

“Every penny that we get from the net proceeds from today's event will go directly to the Malibu Boys and Girls Club,” said Tallal.
