Pancakes -Stack attempt attempt is too short at Phoenix Diner

Phoenix -The owner of Joes Diner in Phoenix made the second attempt on Tuesday to break the Guinness World record for the highest pancake stack.

Joe Seriale came closer this time – but still fell flat.

The current record of 40 inches was set up in the United Kingdom in 2016.

After serial built a 26-inch stack last year in his first efforts last year, he made his recipe to give him a better chance this time.

“There is no egg or butter in these pancakes,” he said. “I changed the flour; It is much stiffer. I cut back the sugar. That bothers stability. I turned my fried care agent down. “

How big was Pancake Stack in the last record attempt?

Unfortunately, the stack put 29 inches before it in the Seriale restaurant in 4515 N. Seventh Ave.

The tower was around 70 pancakes, which took about 6 gallon milk, 35 pounds of flour and six hours.

The world record has strict requirements for a legitimate attempt. Each pancake cannot be more than one centimeter tall and must be between 5.5 and 10 inches wide.

Joes Diner owner does not give up

While the serial was neglected, he remained undeterred and swore to try every year until he breaks the record.

Next year he said that he would work with a recipe that would create thinner pancakes that will give him more control over the stack.

“What I discovered this year is the change in the flour, I did a more fluffy pancake, and that compresses, and that is unpredictable,” he said.
