Patrick Mahomes makes the Today Cameo to share exciting news with Viral Texas Tech Student

Kansas City, Mo (KCTV)-a one-time moment for the Texas Tech student, Blake Porter, has now turned into a unique gift.

In a basketball game of the men between Texas Tech and Houston on Monday evening in Lubbock, Porter sank a 94-foot putt with 94 feet during a timeout competition in the game. He celebrated by finding the quarterback from Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, who was sitting at the courtyard, and celebrated with the two-time NFL MVP.

Porter was originally supposed to win an iPad and a cooler, he told the members of the Today show during a appearance on Thursday in New York City. But Mahomes and the Texas Tech Athletic Department increased the use.

Mahomes shared a video with Porter, which was played on Thursday on the show, and let Porter know that he had received a scholarship that will pay for his full semester of tuition fees at Texas Tech next autumn. In addition to this financial support, Mahomes said he and Adidas made the Texas Tech student an honorary member of the Mahomes team.

“I was so excited to be just a small part of (at the moment),” said Mahomes in the video. “I know that you believe that you know what you won, but you don't know that the Texas Tech Athletics will pay your lessons next autumn.”
