Paul Slenes' First start of spring for Pittsburgh Pirates breaking down

On the first day of March, when the calendar was transformed into a new month, Pittsburgh Pirates start jug Paul Slenes entered the hill in the Ed Smith Stadium 2025. The symbolic rotation of the site and the highly expected debut for the National League of the year of the year was worth waiting.

Slene's four batteries excluded over three innings, allowed four goals, gave a walk and allowed a run. The pirates defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-2, but that was hardly the best news of the day for Buccos fans, when Slenes picked up exactly where he stopped in 2024.

Slenes wasted no time and hit the first dough he saw, Cedric Mullins, on a sinker on the bottom of the first inn. The diving, which was gone from the striker, let Mullins swing – a familiar sight when Slenes is on the hill.

He got a bit of problems after he had turned mullins and left Adley Rutschman a hard single, then a four-pitch walk to Ryan O'Hearn. The Orioles used the Baserunner when Ryan Mountcasetle put a ground ball back into Slenes. It initially looked as if Slenes could get out of the inning with a potential double game. The phenomenon of the pirates forwarded the ball to Nick Solak for the first time, but Solak's litter was wild. Rutschman would come to score with the bullet error.

Slenes would get the final from the inning against Ramon Laaureano out of the inn. The 99-mile fasting had the same rising movement that we had got used to in Slenes brilliant rookie season.

The end of the second started the first like the first – with a strike. Slenes made Nick Gordon follow and follow another high fast ball, who again touched 99 miles per hour. Slenes would allow a gentle single to right field, but with two groundball -outs rose without prejudice to the inning.

The third inning provided further measures on the basic paths for the Orioles. O'Hearn achieved a Wurffebefe from Shortstop Lieover Peguero, followed by a groundball single from the bat from Mountcastle. Slenes reacted accordingly. A pop -out to Catcher Joey Bart would give him the second from the inning. The last blow of Slenes' afternoon went down just like the first – hung up. Laureano's second strike of the day on a high heating would end the inning and the start of Slenes.

Slenes' first start was everything the Pirates organization could have wanted. He showed a strong control and threw 30 of his 53 parking spaces for strikes. He worked well with Baserunners and got out with important strikes from two small jams. His fastball buzzed at the speed we are used to. They had bitten the off-speed parking spaces.

The 22-year-old ACE also revealed two new parking spaces in a live action game one cutter and a fast ball with two sets. While he got no rashes with the new parking spaces in his repertoire, he was still enthusiastic about the opportunity to show them in a real game.

“You just have to mix it. Learn a few things about it. But it will be fine, I think, ”Skees told MLB.com to CJ Haddad. “The line -up is a bit irrelevant when you work on new things and work on how to influence each other. The biggest was to get into the zone and see where we are. “

Rob Friedman by Ninja identified Sken's Cutter in a swing and Miss from Rutschman. Baseball Twitter was crazy about the unveiling, since it already seems to be a trip for him. It looks as if Skenes has added another fatal weapon to his already loaded arsenal.

This is only the beginning of the transition from Slenes to his second season in the big leagues. If his first start is an indicator of how his year will go, baseball fans will be a pleasure.

Slenes will probably start again against Orioles next Thursday. The first place in the game will be at 6:05.
