People miss McDonald's old school after a viral photo of 2025 Playplace

I had my 6th birthday party at our local McDonald's and it was an absolute banger. We had burgers, fries and even this McDonald's leaf cake of the old school! There was party hats and an appearance by Ronald himself. After sung “Happy Birthday”, all the children ran to the huge playground (my mother called her “fart tunnel”) and we would play for hours.

There was a time in the story when her birthday party at McDonald's was all. Obviously, things have changed a little with birthday celebrations in recent decades, but it was a magical time.

I am not the only one who feels like that, and when a woman recently shared a photo of her local McDonald's “Playplace”, people were horrified.

X user Nancy French wrote: “This is so heartbreaking. I am in a new McDonalds in Franklin, TN, and look at their playground for children. Two screens/two chairs. “

She shared this next to a picture of exactly this … a weak attachment to the fast food restaurant with two tiny screens in the corner and two tiny chairs. The words “Playplace” are painted on the wall next to a Happy Meal Box with huge, strange eyes.

“I hope this is only temporary! We still have the game equipment at my local MCDs, ”said a user.

Another said: “That ruined my day”

She updated the post later and wrote: “I went back to make sure I missed nothing. There was this column that could bring children to sport. But I don't think this is only temporary. I think that's it. “

The video that she shared shows the updated room with an apparatus known as a Jumppad tower, in which four children can take a place and jump as much as possible to bring their lights to the top of the tower.

After their video had become viral, several X users remembered McDonald's old school.

“The shift in McDonald's mood from the 90s to today everything catches everything wrong,” wrote a user.

Another said: “Do you remember to have birthday parties at McDonalds? And did you have real party planners in the staff? They were funny times. “

An X user explained that this change may be due to the larger overhaul of McDonalds restaurants. “This is one of the new ones. You have revised your entire design to reflect fewer employees and more screens. “Automated McDonalds” BC employees only cook. There is no playground. Only places to wait for the collection, ”they said.

In her latest update, French shared an old photo of how the Franklin McDonald's looked in front of a fire.

“Hey people! This was the previous McDonald's structure that had to be replaced by fire. The new “children's playplace” that I posted below should replace this huge children's area, “she wrote.

Is it liability problems? Reduce costs? Is it restless that the company's feelings about the idea of the mothers can find hours long in such places for a happy meal? In any case, this two-screen “Play-Place” seems to be an over-correction.
