Philadelphia Union 1-3 Nashville SC-Die Philly Soccer page

In a rare game on Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Union Nashville SC was opposed to Subaru Park. The union's playstyle was found, and two controversial Var decisions took a punishment from the union and gave another to Nashville. The former Union assistant and the US national team, BJ Callaghan, led his team in Nashville to a 3-1 win in Subaru Park.

Bradley Carnell placed an identical starting line -up in the previous games of the union this season. It is the first time in 2022 that the club published the same line -up four times in a row. This means another short-term loan for Frankie Westfield from Frankie in Off-Cader. The team used four of its six assigned views before they have to take him to an additional squad.

A remarkable change from the bank was goalkeeper Oliver Semmle in over Andrew Rick. Rick has been the first election for Union II for more than a year. Therefore, on Monday evening he was probably brought to rest before the second team's game against New York Red Bulls II. Ian Glavinovich was also absent because he was still working back from a thigh injury.

First half

The match started with some very physical games between the two sides, and both teams made a few fouls. In the first ten minutes, the union in Nashvilles Box could get, but could not express it to goalkeeper Joesph Willis. Nashville also had a share of chances of attack, but they could not penetrate the Union's line of defense. Nashville had two goals in three games before this game and had an urgency to open the evaluation.

The attacker Sam Surridge did exactly that in the fifteenth minute after driving through Frankie Westfield and Jakob Gesnes in the Union box. Westfield seemed to slide the lawn after tracing back to stop surds, and Gesnes was early in his attempt to block the upcoming shot.

The union countered quickly after the restart, but Quinn Sullivan was brought down for the second time without a foul, which was designated by referee Pierre-Luc Laauziere. Just a few minutes later, Surridge was back in the six of the Union with the ball, but this time Olwethu Makhanya was able to face a moving challenge to stop him.

The defensive line moved up during the union during the time and left Surridge with a simple single foot foot with Makhanya. The South African was beaten, but the English shot hit the post after Andre Blake had expired from his line in the six-yard box and was ultimately clarified by Kai Wagner for a corner.

The union brought itself back into play in a spectacular way, with another incredible long-distance shot by Jovan Lukic after the ball of Nashville was cleared on a Union corner. The Serbianin fits well with his new club and he looked confident in and out of the ball.

Shortly before the interruption, Nashvilles defeated Ahmed Qasem Jakob Glesnes on the way to a long ball and put it calmly on Blake baking posts. Again the line was recorded in half to Nashville, and Glesnes was not fast enough.

Second half

Philadelphia controlled the property from the changing room when they tried to find a balance. The chances were up, but they did not state when they had to.

In the 60th minute, Quinn Sullivan was brought into the penalty area when he tried to drive to clock in the middle. The call on the field was a goal kick, but after he had gone to the monitor for a long review, the referee did not change his decision. The game continued without remarkable possibilities for both sides, but remained very physical. Kai Wagner was at the end of two difficult challenges. The first had twitched him on his ankle, and the second asked him to look for his right knee. He was able to return to the pitch.

Jakob Glesses was involved in a head-to-head collision with Hany Mukhtar in the 77th minute, and Var decided to give Nashville a punishment while both players were still treated. Hany Mukhtar returned to the field to convert the punishment. He almost scored another goal after the restart after slept in the union defense and pulled Andre Blake from his line.

The union ended the match visibly frustrated for eleven minutes. In the ninth minute of this eleven, the replacement of Chris Donovan was brought down to the penalty area, and the union was finally given her punishment. The usual penalty truck Daniel Gazdag had already been discontinued, so Quinn Sullivan was allowed to step on the spot. His punishment was saved by Joseph Willis, as did the later back rash.

And as if the saved penalty were not enough salt in the wound, the center of-back-olwethu Makhanya received a red card to throw the ball into the opponents after being pushed out of the borders. The out was reminiscent of what the MLS sent him in the MLS Next Pro Finale against North Texas last November.

Three points:
  • Tai Baribo switched down: The captain of Nashville, Walker Zimmerman, was in almost every possession of the union of Tai Baribo. Baribo was unable to reach the end of set pieces and crosses, and was rarely open to receive the ball on the floor.
  • Defend misfortunes: The back line of the Union spent its time outside of possession and pressed up on the field and was often pulled out of the position by Nashvilles. Makhanya's pace saved her once, but both goals from Nashville were occasionally scored when a defender was not fast enough to trace back. Although it did not cause any problems, the union's defense reviews, in particular the headers, tend to go to the touchlines in contrast to the field. These permits were mostly restored by Nashville, which could continue the possession.
  • Jovan Lukic: Despite the result, Lukic had another decent match with his new club. He commanded the Union midfield next to Danley Jean-Jacques and looked confidently on both sides of the ball. If it can take you out of the loss positively, it is Lukic's ability to work in his new squad.
