Trend stories:

The picture shows a large gate that blocks the entrance to a women's bath on Belmont High School.

News Center 7 has contacted Dayton Public Schools to get answers.

Superintendent David Lawrence said that the district was aware of a social media contribution about access to bathing rooms at the high school.

The locking of toilets during the lesson is a common practice in many high schools in the district to minimize disorders, prevent the students from skipping the lessons and preventing vandalism. The toilets are open during the changes in the lessons. If a student has to use the toilet during the lesson, an administrator is available to unlock it as required. The district is still obliged to maintain a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
