Many members of the college football community in Pittsburg have shown themselves since the 18-year-old's death, including the head coach of the team Pat Narduzzi. “I received a call this morning that no parent, teacher or trainer would ever want to receive the news about the sudden loss of a young and promising life,” wrote Narduzzi. “Our entire program is shocked and deeply sad to learn from Mason Alexander's death.”

“Mason had registered in Indiana in Indiana, just in January after his early ending at the Hamilton Southeastern High School. Even in this short time, he all made us a big impression on all of us,” the head coach continued. “Mason was proud and excited to be a panther, and we felt the same way as he has in our family Pitt. He will always be a panther for us. The Alexander and Masons family will love and friends in our prayers.”
