You can be sure that every former college football recruit reminds himself of his first offer. For Jack Lansing III, he will remember the day on which the Pitt Panthers became his first major scholarship.
He made Michigan's trip to Pittsburgh at the end of this week a recruitment visit to spring camps. In the early Saturday morning, he went to the social media app, which was previously known as Twitter, to announce that he left Pennsylvania with a scholarship offer.
Lansing III's announcement on X overtook a photo with Pitt Secondary Coach Archie Collins.
“After a great visit and discussions with coaches, I am blessed and honored to say that I received my first D1 offer from the University of Pittsburgh !!”
Lansing III is a real “athlete” in the position category and plays in his junior season highlights on Hudl, the 6-foot 205-pounding list of senior citizens outside of Linebacker, security and reception as its main position, several positions on both sides of the ball on the Hartland High School in Hartland, Michigan, in Michigan.
Last season he put together 67 duels, two duels for loss, sack and five pass separations in just nine games. Lansing III aggressively put together 17 catches for 184 yards and three touchdowns.
On film, his piece is impressive as a hybridline backer – similar to Pitt's Star Linebacker position. Lansing III can slide out of the box and overtake a slot recipient in which he can provide a sound cover. He can also come downhill, play physically on a block, pour, attack the ball and close with a duel.
Lansing III's open field skills are impressive.
He will also go to the back in a single -high security role, where he shows clever decisions and a good combination of efficient but aggressive angling for football. And this is what College trainer is looking for in a defender of the second or third level.
Lansing III offensively shows good publications and above -average speed, since he can vertically surpass the hardland of the defensive backfield. As a high -quality athlete, he is a capital in the passing game of his program.
However, it is the defensive side of the ball, on which Lansing III is probably persecuted to play most programs on the next level. His instincts are sharp, including tools that can often not be trained, and its toughness is clear.
This is a promising recruit that could earn a variety of power of four offers if he should continue to maximize its natural skills.
