Plan more comed utility work from next week

Commonwealth Edison continues the most important improvements to the infrastructure in the city of Plaines.

The project scope includes the installation of several electrical manholes and sewer packages to expand the supply companies. The work will be carried out gradually in the next five months.

Work locations include:

Maple Avenue from Touhy Avenue to RiverView (phase 1) – completed 2024,

RiverView Avenue from Maple Street to Cora Street (Phase 2) – finished 2024, completed,

Oakton Street from Cora Street to Lee Street (phases 2, 3 and 4) – Oakton (Cora to CN RR) completed 2024; Oakton (CN an Lee) – Start March 17,

Lee Street from Oakton to Graceland Avenue (Phase 4) – Start March 31,

Graceland Avenue from Lee Street to the Rand Road (phases 3, 5 and 6) – Graceland (Jefferson to the edge) – Completion March 31,

Rand Road from Graceland to the Union Pacific Railroad (phase 6) – outstanding.

On or around March 17, the crews begin from the installation of Oakton's cables from the Canadian National to Lee and Lee Street from Oakton to Forest.

The work is expected to be completed by May 2. Various lane locking and detours are determined for the work areas in the course of the project.
