Porsche 911 GT2 RS ironically, McLaren Sennas Interlagos -Lap record is recorded

Brazil's Interlagos is one of the big racetracks in the world, and it was only appropriate that a car that was named after Ayrton Senna held the production car round record. Now, at the end of last year, the Brazilian racing driver Ricardo Maurício made 1: 36.967 in a Porsche 911 GT2 RS with a Manthey Racing handling and an Aero kit that broke the record of Senna from Senna from Senna.

The lap time was almost a second faster than the Senna, which loosened the route in 1: 37.856 in 2022 with Maurício behind the steering wheel. Not bad for a 911 variant that left production six years ago. However, this is the same car that creates a 6:43 around the Nürburgring north loop, which is still faster than any street car bar of the Mercedes-AMG One Hypercar.

The Manthey Racing Kit for the GT2 RS contains an Aero package that increases the downforce significantly, increases a cloud suspension and improved brakes. This makes the already fast 691 PS-911 GT2 RS a real track weapon. Porsche finally offers the upgrade package in the USA, but costs an ophthalmology of $ 113,140 before taxes or installation.

If you look at the onboard video, the GT2 RS MR seems to be ideal for Interlagos. It has enough downforce for the large brake zones of the Sao Paolo Track and the slow to medium -sized technical corners, but not so much that it is slowly in the straight. And the improved suspension components work well over the lane and have Maurício use as much track properties as possible at the corner outputs.

We wonder how long this plate will be. The GT2 RS MR is still one of the fastest cars in the world, but now we have monsters like the Corvette ZR1 to set blazing lap times, and new hypercars like the McLaren W1.
