Price breaks St. Mary's Assist Record, as Seahawks Drop Thriller

Keegan Prize consolidated its name in the history of St. Mary's College in Maryland Lacrosse on Saturday and became the all-time assistant leader of the program. However, the milestone came with heartbreaking when the Seahawks fell to Hampden-Sydney College on the street with a dramatic 10: 9 defeat.

Price, a high -ranking attacker, entered the game for school record with 136 career templates and agreed to the brand set by Jude Brown in 2022. In the fourth quarter, Prize delivered the historical pass and secured its place at the top of the record books. He ended the game with two templates and brought his career to 138.

The game itself was a back and forth battle with five lead changes and a dramatic last minute. St. Mary's seemed to have control after a 4-1 goal brought the Seahawks a lead of 9: 7 with almost eight minutes. The Senior Attackman Aiden Doyle played a key role in the surf and scored three goals in the track, including a crucial man-up goal that spread the lead.

Hampden-Sydney refused to go and cut the deficit to one with a little more than two minutes before playing. Broder Conley delivered the equalizer with 39 seconds and set the stage for a breathtaking finish. When the time went back, Conley suggested again and set the game winner with only two seconds and sealed a dramatic comeback for the tigers.

The game opened with a 3-0 lead from Hampden-Sydney, but St. Mary's reacted quickly, whereby the price was scored three goals in the first quarter to bring the Seahawks in the lead. The teams exchanged goals in the second and third quarter before St. Mary's ran late. Despite strong defense efforts, the Seahawks could not hold on in the last moments.

Statistically speaking, the game was coordinated evenly. St. Mary's kept a slight advantage in shots (38-37) and forced more sales, while Hampden-Sydney had a close advantage in floor balls and Faceoffs.

Price and Doyle recorded both hat tricks to lead the Seahawks offensive, while the second Declan Horton added two goals. Senior captain Nate Hochrein did a goal and two templates, while junior defender Joe Szymanski had a career best performance with nine floor balls and caused four sales.

Junior Matteo Ciccarello won 10 out of 21 battles on the Faceoff X while he scored three floor balls. The senior goalkeeper Cullen McKay achieved another strong performance on the net and achieved 13 parades for his third double-digit, saving effort in a row.

For Hampden-Sydney, Conley's three-goal excursion turned out to be a difference, while Davis Mack added two goals and assistance. Goalkeeper Will Palmer secured victory with nine parades.

The loss reduces to 2-2 in the season and makes a two-game winner. The Seahawks will collapse on March 5 when they travel to the Catholic University under the lights in Carlini Field. They return home on March 8 to compete in the JLR Stadium.
