Project the 2025 season of Louisville Football with SP+

Louisville, Ky. – The 2024 season for the Louisville football program was not perfect, but was successful overall.

The second year of the Jeff Brohm era did not appear with a performance in the ACC championship game like the first year, but the cardinals were still 9: 4 and 5: 3 in the ACC game. This included a 35-34 victory against Washington in the Sun Bowl as part of a winning series with three games to end the year.

Even the natural squad wear, which goes hand in hand with the conclusion, the transfer portal and the NFL design in Louisville, has another talented list in 2025.

How well will Louisville perform the Jeff Brohm -era in the third year? It is a little early to tell when you consider that spring practice has not even started and there is another transfer window on the horizon, but we already have an idea thanks to the predictive college football metric SP+.

According to his creator Bill Connelly, SP+is a “temporary and opposing measure of the efficiency of college football”. It has made several changes to football outsiders over the years since the creation of the creation in 2008, but the current iteration takes three main factors into account: return of production, the latest recruitment and recent history.

On Thursday, Connelly released his early SP+ projections before the 2025 season. With an assessment of 12.4, Louisville is 22 out of 136 FBS teams.

It is not surprising that the metric on this side of the ball last season is very high on the offensive side of the ball for the cardinals and results in an evaluation of 36.7 or 11 in FBS. Conversely, SP+ is not as big as a fan of the defensive side of things and gives him an assessment of 24.4 or 45. In FBS.

With SP+we can connect the evaluation from every team to Louisville's schedule and immerse yourself in deep immersion in the 2025 season. We can find out the proportion of the win in every game (dealing with home against WEG), the expected victories at the end of the season as well as the statistical probability of every result during and finally in the season.

Louisvilles 2025 SP+ indicator

Louisvilles 2025 SP+ Chart / Matthew McGavic – Louisville Cardinals on Si

SP+ is quite high in Louisville. Since the cardinals have a somewhat simpler schedule than last season, the metric paints an optimistic picture.

The cardinals only play three teams with a higher SP+ rating – Miami, Clemson and Smu – and have a probability of winning of over 50.0 percent in nine of their 12 regular season games. Louisville is a crucial outsider in her street game in Miami, light outsider at home against Clemson and at the Smu, easy favorites at Virginia Tech, and are clear favorites in any other game.

Louisville has an expected victory of 8.24 and you have a chance of 26.45 percent to end the season with eight wins, the highest of another victory. In every respect, SP+ is currently predicting in 2024 that SP+ is 8: 4. Based on the winning of game-for-games, however, your ceiling could be closer to 10-11 victories.

A lot can happen until August 30th when Louisville organizes the season from the east of Kentucky. But for the time being, Louisville may develop into a further successful campaign under Brohm.
