Propan -Leck calls on the emergency reaction in Wood County

Township of Cameron, Wi (Onfocus) – Emergency crews reacted to a situation with dangerous materials on Thursday afternoon after a Propan truck occurred on private property in front of State Highway 10.

Around 1:35 p.m., the Wood County Communications Center sent the Cameron fire brigade and the fire brigade of City of Lincoln in the 9563 State Highway 10. When arriving, the respondents confirmed that the driver was not injured while Propan came out of the truck from the truck, and the vehicle in a parking space was on the way.

For public security, the authorities hired a secure area, lowered electricity in the affected area and evacuated near houses. The streets that surround the incident location were also closed as a precaution.

Several agencies provided additional support, including Richfield Rural Fire Department, the Hewitt volunteer fire brigade, the Department of Fire and Rescue Department of Marshfield, the Sheriff's office of Wood County, the emergency management of Wood County Highway Department and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

“The cooperation between our district partners was significantly involved in ensuring the security of the municipality and the firefighters in this dangerous environment,” said fire chief Aaron Andre from the municipality of Cameron Fire Department in a statement published on social media. “We are very grateful for your help.”

The cause of the propane leak remains examined. Officials have currently published no further details.

Rescue workers have attributed the strong winds to quickly dissolve the smell of the propane.
