The 98th Bacardi Cup and 2025 Bacardi Invitational Regatta (BCIR), which takes place from March 3 to 8, will set a new benchmark with a record input list among the six fleets in Miami, FL. The edition of 2025 built up last year has already been set up, and it is already ready to destroy expectations, with over 210 submissions represent 26 nations on the provisional list of entry.

Racing begins on March 3 with the 98th Bacardi Cup for the star class, followed by March 6th from J/70, Melges 24, Snipe, Viper 640 and VX One classes. All races end on March 8th.

98. Bacardi Cup
The Bacardi Cup, a cornerstone from Segel -Excellence since 1927, will once again present the legendary star class, with seventy entries are supposed to be 16 nations. The 6-day schedule contains a daily long-term race.

The Bacardi Cup of last year reached new heights when Mateus Kusnierewicz and Bruno Prada achieved their historic fifth victory in a row and strengthened their legacy as one of the most dominant teams in the history of the event. The defending champions will return to the competition of former winners, including Eric Doyle and Payson Infinise and Frithjof Kleen, who have come together with Paul Cayard.

While Cayard has a Star Worlds title, he does not yet have to win the hard -to -tune Bacardi Cup victory.

A large number of top international start teams will be in the mix, including Piet Eckert and Frederico Melo from Switzerland, Peter O'Leary and Stephen Milne from Ireland as well as Jørgen Schönherr and Markus Koy from Germany. They will be present with former star world champions, including Augie Diaz and John Maccausland.

The Bacardi Cup U30 program has further strengthened the fleet because it contributes to promoting young seafarers through financial support and competitive opportunities. In 2025, ten U30 teams are ready to make a name for themselves. The Bacardi Cup U30 program works in cooperation with the Star Class and its SEA program for the Star Education and Access (SEA).

The BCIR, which takes place from March 6th to 8th, will again contain the J/70, Melges 24, Snipe, Viper 640 and VX One classes. During the three -day event, each fleet is said to contest three races a day for a total of nine races.

The 2024-25 Bacardi Winter series for J/70 and Melges 24 are completed at the BCIR, the third and last event of the series. In the J/70, all eyes are focused on Peter Duncan's relative darkness, which together with strong competitors such as Charles Thompsons Brutus III. And Cate Muller-Terrhunes Casting Couch, who won BWS1 and won third place in BWS2, won.

In Melges 24, Peter-David Karriés Nefeli is an outstanding component after winning BWS2.
