University Park-Penn State Thon, the world's largest philanthropy led by students, the children and families who are affected by cancer in childhood, not sitting dance marathon last weekend.

All income from Thon's fundraising campaigns will go to four diamonds, a national non -profit organization that covers 100% of all medical expenses for families with cancer in the children's hospital in Penn State Health for children and at the same time supports an extensive cancer research program on the Penn State College of Medicine.

This year's 53rd anniversary of Thon included the topic of “A Home for Hope”, representatives of joy, love and unshakable support, which combines all those involved – from students to families – in the mission in the mission to find a cure for childhood cancer. Since 1977, Thon has worked with Four Diamonds, the organization founded by Charles and Irma Millard in memory of her son Christopher, to keep the fight against cancer in childhood.

Over 700 dancers took place on Friday, February 21, at the Non -Stop marathon of the organization and on February 23 at 4 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Fray, who recently announced her 20-year anniversary tour, led a surprise performance in the Bryce Jordan Center.

Thon was originally founded in 1973 by Penn State students. In the past 53 years, Thon and Four Diamonds have helped more than 4,800 families for cancer in children in children by covering all medical editions, including extensive special care services in the Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Thon and Four Diamonds have an impact worldwide and continue to support research that are of crucial importance for the further development of cancer treatments.
