Pueblo PD: 3 officers who were injured when shooting; All are in a stable state

Pueblo, Colorado (Krdo) – Three officials from the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) were injured in a shootout on Tuesday evening in the Bessemer neighborhood.

According to the PPD, an official began to take fire to a separate call and was shot in the area of ​​the Mesa Avenue and the Cedar Street. Other officials and Pueblo County MEP responded to the scene and commissioned the suspect. Three officers were wounded during the shootout. The officials are all stable in local hospitals.

The PPD said the suspect fled out of the area on foot and continued to shot officers. The man was hit in the exchange of shots and declared dead at the crime scene. The police initially announced Krdo13 that they did not believe that other suspects were involved in the incident, but said that this could change depending on the results of the examination.

The PPD also announced Krdo13 that the suspect was known to the official and had an active arrest warrant. The 10th judiciary Critical Incident Response Team (Cirt) and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will examine the shootout, the police said.
