Punjab controls to optimize criminal law

Lahore: In his attempt to remedy emerging threats in connection with cyber security and fighting terrorism in relation to cyber security and fighting terrorism, the government of Punjab has decided to form a legal reform committee in order to change the criminal law of the province.

According to a spokesman for the Interior Ministry of the Province, the committee is headed by the Punjab Deputy General Inspector (DIG) Kamran Adil and his recommendations will be presented within three months to modernize and improve the effectiveness of the laws.

The committee will make changes to the criminal proceedings from 1898 (CRPC), the Pakistani Criminal Code 1860 (PPC) and the Qanun-e-Hahadat Order in 1984. In addition, the body will also prepare a draft for a national security law.

The Punjab Home Department said that legal reforms will concentrate on crime prevention, effective law enforcement authorities and public order. Particular attention is paid to the changes to the change in the laws in connection with the protection of women and children in the province.

The reform committee will also propose changes in the fight against terrorism, cybercrime, cyber security and interprovinial coordination.

The proposed changes will reconcile the legal provisions with modern scientific techniques, contemporary laws and developing social needs.
