Reconstruction of the roller track, which is destroyed by fire

A well -known runway that will be destroyed by fire in May is on the way back!

The reconstruction of the Ramona Rollerbahn is in progress in sister lakes.

The crews have worked tirelessly to bring the Rollbahn back to life!

So far, many progress has been made, and the owner says that an outer shell could occur in the next few weeks!

It was a devastating loss when a fire destroyed Ramona Rollerbahn, but the owner didn't want to give up his passion.

And after 9 months of waiting, a comeback is in the works.

“Last week before we had the big snow, we poured the foundations. And they had covered them up and on Monday they came back and now they have done all of this since yesterday,” said Harold III, Ramona Recreation Rink owner .

The green light was given to the owner two weeks ago. And since then, considerable progress has been made.

The crews poured concrete, set up wooden posts and header and work on bringing the ice rink back to life.

The owner says the shell of the building could soon be carried out.

“You said it would take a month of the weather and I think it will be faster,” said Schaus.

The new building will have some changes to the original.

“On this page it will be a bit larger instead of bringing out the two rooms where the entrance was. The entire building will fail on one level. So we gave us a few more birthday ceremonies. The bathrooms will be bigger and then there will be a family pool that we didn't have before, ”said Schaus.

There will still be a few parts of the original, for example the ice rinks that will continue the inheritance of the oldest rolling track in Michigan.

“So far, the floor has been saved. We discovered it and covered it all summer and everything was really good. We couldn't uncover it because it got cold, but as soon as this roof is over it, I will uncover it and we will see what's going on, ”said Schaus.

The goal is to have the Rollbahn back on and to skating in autumn.
