Kenneth Hall, one of the most famous players of the Texas High School Football, died according to a report by The Houston Chronicle. He was 89.

Known as “The Sugar Land Express” for his spectacular heroic deeds at the Sugar Land High School (now Fort Bend Dulles) Hall ran for 11,232 YARDS from 1950 to 1953 and would be a national rushing record that would be broken by the future Heisman Trophy winner and NFL All-Pro-Derrick Henry became. The state record remains in Texas, with just two other players – Cayugas Traynlon Shead and Aledos Johnathan Gray – even put 10,000 career values ​​in the shade.

In a sign of the Times, Hall's standard career, which contained up to 17 national records at a time, did not come as a return, but as a quarterback in Sugar Land's single-wing offensive.

The best season of Hall was senior in 1953 when he ran 4.045 yards to lead the Gator to a third regional title of class B in a row, which at that time the highest performance for schools of this size. In more than 70 years of layer he is the only player in 11-man football story in Texas High School, who runs 4,000 yards in one season, even though he has reached the feat in 12 games, while his modern contemporaries often have up to 16 competitions. His season from 1953 included a 520-yard rushing performance against Houston Lutheran, which is still the eleventh highest rushing overall in the history of Texas; He also added a touchdown, Punt Return TouchDown and defensive interception in this performance.

Hall was strongly recruited and played for Texas A&M and legendary coach Bear Bryant, but resigned from College football before playing a snapshot for the aggies. He played in the Canadian football league and in the NFL and mainly appeared in 34 games as half -back and as special teams.

Hall was recorded in 1983 in the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame, the National High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 1994. He lived the rest of his life in Fredericksburg and held a connection to the game through the Hall Trophy, which was awarded the best player in the annual all-American game every year.
