Record -suspect Sweep for Alabama Softball at Crimson Classic

Tuscaloosa, ala. – The old saying says: “It is not the way you start, it is important how you are done.”

That's correct. But in the case of Alabama's softball team, it certainly feels good to start the season with some criminal offense.

The Crimson Tide swept the first day of the Crimson Classic on Friday, defeated UAB with 15: 1 in five innings and took Furman in five innings with 12: 2 and set up a school record for successive Run Rules with six.

In his first 18 games, Alabama (12-6) achieved 138 runs and 49 stolen bases. Compare that over the past year. The Crimson Tide started a perfect 18: 0, but scored 80 runs. And Alabama ended the season with 41 stolen bases. Alabama faded the rest of the season and ended 39-20.

“We are spreading wealth,” said Alabama coach Patrick Murphy. “There are 17 players on our squad who can play at any time. The thing is when you get your chance, take your chance. ”

Six Alabama players achieved 10 or more runs and each player with more than two bats has achieved at least one run.

The Freshman Audrey vanda ruff leads the crimson tide with 20 stolen bases, while Kristen White 8-Gegen-8 and Larissa Preuts is 7-to-7 on stolen bases.

Everything adds a positive view for the rest of the season.

“It's good if your entire team is hot,” said Alabama Shortstop Brooke Ellestad. “If we are in practice, we are intended to carry out the process and make adjustments early. If we have an inning in which we do not do it, I can have full trust that we can adapt. ”
