Red Cross and Albemarle Fire Team for “Sound The Alarm” campaign together

Albemarle County, va. (Wvir) – The residents of Albemarle County pushed their door on Saturday morning on Saturday morning and the Red Cross.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue and the Chapter Central Virginia of the Red Cross have teamed up for their “Sound The Alarm” campaign and went from the door to door to install free smoke detectors in the region.

In the end, volunteers and firefighters installed 29 alarms, replaced 13 batteries and helped more than 50 people.

“The Red Cross fulfills our mission. Our mission is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies, ”said Bill Brent, Executive Director of the Central Virginia Red Cross. “And this is the first step to prevent. We work with our great friends in the Albemarle County. ”

ACFR and the Red Cross work together on fire protection prevention all year round.

“This is one day when we simply work with the Red Cross to do this, but we are always available all year round to come to your home, to install a free smoke detector and to assert a quick security at home and see how we can help you,” said Emily Pelliccia, deputy head of ACFR. “

Both organizations stated that this could not happen without the Red Cross volunteers, many of them local students.
