Red royal crabs through acid trend in Bering Sea, the study suggests | Local news

A new study, which was completed in the NOAA Alaska Fishere Science Center from Kodiak, implies that the acidification of ocean and not the warming of the ocean in the Bering Sea has contributed significantly to the decline of the Red King Crab from Bristol Bay.

The study “The acidification of Ocean can contribute to the recruitment failure of Bering Sea Red King Crab” was published on February 7th in Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences.
