Report: The work problems of the UFL threaten the start of the season – Field Level Media – Professional sports solutions

The beginning of the second season of the United Football League is at risk of delay, unless the ongoing work talks improve, Front Office Sports reported on Tuesday.

A new collective agreement is still not signed, although all 24 quarterbacks of the league were registered on Monday after the training camp after a kind of holdout at the weekend.

The quarterbacks were reportedly on an increase compared to the basic salary of $ 55,000, which they described as “negligible” last year, and also wanted health insurance all year round. Together they decided to take part in a QBS training camp in Arlington, Texas on Thursday to Sunday.

The players received a new proposal, which according to the Front Office Sports showed sufficient improvements in relation to the salary inquiries of the healthcare system and the player to bring them back to the camp.

However, the ongoing talks are described as “shaky” by the sources of the Front Office Sport, and the players are reportedly ready to take further work campaigns if the UFL does not move to their current offer.

Monday was the beginning of the training camp for all eight teams. The regular season – the second season after a merger between USfl and XFL – begins on March 28 with a matchup between the St. Louis Battlehawks and the Houston Rougnecks in the TDECU Stadium, the home of the University of Houston Cougars.

Fox has a 50 percent share of the UFL. The other 50 percent are controlled by the XFL Properties LLC under the direction of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and supported by Redbird Capital Partners.
