“Respectless” winds make concerns about the risk of fire this week

Corpus Christi, Texas – Happy Monday and Happy March!

What you need to know

  • Fire weather watch in force on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Expect a warm and windy week. The Monday afternoon will be “disrespectful windy” with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour. For most districts, this will limit the high temperatures to 80ºF. The temperatures will be even warmer on Tuesday before our next cold front. The temperatures near 90ºF will press on the slope winds tomorrow afternoon. The very dry air behind the front, very gusty winds and dry vegetation ensure an increased risk of fire. Please avoid these activities because Funken could trigger a fire that would thrive in these weather conditions.

wx

This week remains windy and warm: the temperatures remain 5-10 degrees above average. While the sunny weather is welcome from the spring breakbrids, the lack of rain is not ideal. Don't expect significant rain in the next seven days.
