Rockets gather together for the record network day of giving

The University of Toledo recognizes the importance of the community how it contributes to promoting our success and is anchored in what we are. This community includes our alumni, students, faculties, employees, clinicians, researchers, fans and the Greater Toledo region. Together we continue to make Northwest Ohio and the world a better place to live, work and play.

Today we realize this community that we come together to celebrate our rocket day of giving. The 36-hour efforts celebrated the eight-year campaign and achieved 3,882 gifts through online donations and live event participation, which led to $ 2,102,228. The 2025 campaign ended the gifts with an increase in gifts by 58% and increased an additional 23% -389,106 US dollars compared to the previous year. Even at a time when people are still extremely intended to spend their time, energy and funds, we can see the commitment of the Rocket Nation and our gratitude goes far beyond what we can express in words.

The support of the municipality and the local companies expanded our range this year. The participating companies included Bubbas 33, the Casual Pint, the Home Slice Pizza, the table Vierund forty, Jakes Salon, Jed (North Holland Sylvania Road), Roosters, Uthedo Health Four Seasons Bistro and Jupmode. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Jim White Toyota, Medical Mutual and Paramount as well as the Ministry of Care Companies in the city of Toledo also served as a community partner by making direct donations on behalf of their company and encouraging customers to join the campaign.

These community partners have contributed to strengthening awareness of the great work in Utoledo, and adding an additional $ 2,567.35 for the financing of the campaign by encouraging customers to search their purchase or pay additional donations.

Every gift and every donation drives groundbreaking research, transformative learning experiences and strong networks that Utoledo offers, ”said Matt Schroeder, President of Utoledo Interim. “Thank you for shaping your love for Utoledo and helping us to shape a better future for our university and our community.”

This year, 126 supporters generated 270 gifts for a total of 29,444 US dollars using their unique participation connections. Donations were able to support areas in our locations, including scholarships, athletics and educational programs, research, healthcare and community services. This included 66 games and challenge gifts in which supporters used their gifts to encourage others to return dollar-for-dollar games or set donor goals to unlock additional means.
