Rohrleck in the eagle gold mine leads to cyanide, which contains water that goes into the local environment

Whitehorse, YT – Yukon's government says that a pipe lick on February 17 in Eagle Gold Mine led to cyanide entering the local environment. Experts estimate that up to 150 cubic meters of cyanide contaminated water may have been released during the incident.

The water quality tests carried out on February 17th and 18th show that increased cyanide, cobalt, copper and nitrite were found near the mine location, with the government found that these results have so far shown the highest concentration of contaminates in the location with the location. The level had returned to the usual quantities within two days, as a sign that the leak was an isolated incident.

The government confirmed that although the leak had occurred on February 17 and the recipient had taken so immediately to remedy it that the leak itself was not immediately reported to the authorities, since it was initially assumed that it was included.
