Roma 2-1 Como: Dele Alli named on Bench for the first time in two years

Dele Alli was mentioned for the first time in two years in a matchday squad when Roma defeated only 10-man Como.

The last appearance of the 28-year-old took place in February 2023 for the Turkish side of Besiktas in a goalless draw with Antalyaspor.

After a month of training with the series A Side Como, which is managed by the Spain World Cup winner CESC Fabregas, DELE signed a first 18-month contract in January 2025.

He has been without a club since June when he left Everton, but he trained under the then manager Sean Dyche before he came to Como.

In an emotional interview with Gary Neville in July 2023, Dele revealed that he was sexually abused at the age of six and negotiated drugs at the age of eight. He also admitted to drinking alcohol and taking sleeping pills during his career, but emphasized his wish to play again after getting his problems outside the field.

The Fabregas team took over a shock in the Stadio Olimpico when Lucas de Cunha ended a minute before half -time.

The Belgian international Alexis Saelemaekers fired the Roma level in the 61st minute -two minutes before Como was reduced to 10 men after Marc -Oliver Kempf was sent for a second crime.

Artem Dovbyk sealed the victory for Claudio Ranieri in the 76th minute to send them to the eighth and six points of fourth place Juventus.

However, Como remains the 13th – six points before the relegation zone.
