RTX 5070 cannot keep up with RTX 4090 in New Benchmark

The RTX 5070 -GPUS -Benchmarks from Nvidia dive and it already looks as if they cannot meet their promise to offer RTX 4090 performance.

The benchmarking site Passmark has shown the performance results for the RTX 5070, whereby the GD3 Market test shows that it falls behind many of its predecessors-a RTX 4070. After the letter, it reached a score of 25,863 and placed it far below in the list of high-end graphics cards.

In the same benchmark, the RTX 4090 -Desktop -GPU achieves 38,340 and shows A significant Difference in performance. In addition, it is even behind an RTX 4090 laptop -GPU (27.438) and RTX 4070 (26.978) and generations before, including the RTX 3090 (26.667).

In comparison, the RTX 4090 still offers a win of 32% compared to the RTX 5070 with large differences in DirectX 9 to DirectX 12. The RTX 5070 was exceeded in DirectX 12 with 91 frames per second (FPS), while the RTX 4090 149 fps reached.

Despite Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, who claims that the RTX 5070 will deliver “4090 output at 549 US dollars”, these benchmark results otherwise state. That means there are other factors in the game.

First, since Nvidia has stopped support for 32-bit frameworks, the results for RTX 50-series graphics cards in Passmark will be expected to throw the results, as can be seen in an earlier RTX 5090 laptop GPU-Benchmark. However, this has generally still performed well in the tests of Passmark, and the problem should be fixed.

RTX 5090, 5080 and 5070 Ti GPUs were hit by a “rare problem” that is fixed in the upcoming GPU models, but it seems that this problem has not affected 5070 graphics cards.

But the real kicker here is DLSS 4 and Multi Frame generation. These results are obviously disappointing, but these are the new functions of Nvidia in GPUS of RTX 50 series, which are intended to increase performance, but only play in supported players.

These results may not reflect these functions operated with AI, but it indicates that you get RTX 4090-current in an RTX 5070 if the numbers do not match quite the brave claim.

Despite its 12 GB GDDR7 video storage and 6,144 Cuda cores, which (but also better) match the 12 GB GDDR6X of the RTX 4070, the RTX 5070 is not as fast as many of its competition -let alone an RTX 4090 GPU.

When generating Multi -Frame and DLSS -upscaling, PC games achieve a greater performance, such as evaluations of notebookcheck, arstechnia and more. Although we also saw the digital foundry state of Eurogamer that DLSS 4 does not match 4090 performance at all.

While the generation of DLSS 4 and Multi Frame certainly helps to his case, especially with its price of $ 549 (given the price of the prices for other high-end GPUs from RTX 50 series, I will believe if I see it), it is clear that Nvidia with its RTX 4090 note is too high.

Will RTX 5070 Laptop GPUS see a similar result? I wanted RTX 5070 -Gaming laptops to be my gold standard, but this may not be the case if the GPU does not get the performance of RTX 5090. As soon as we have put it through the steps, we will surely know, but instead it seems to see many GPUs of AMD from Radeon RX 9070 XT and 9070 in the desktop front.
