Ryan Day undecided in the format

The football coach of the state of Ohio, Ryan Day, is undecided on April 12 in the format of spring show cases of the Buckeyes spring.

The shop window replaces the traditional spring game, which in recent years includes an intrasquad scroll as the highlight of spring practice. It also takes place in the Ohio stage with public admission.

“To sit here and tell them that I know exactly what the format will look like, I don't know at the moment,” said Day The Dispatch.

Day is aware of the wear and tear of the Buckeyes, who played 16 games last season, a route that was the longest in school history when they went through the extended college football playoff to win a national championship.

“We have some people who played a lot of football,” he said.

Other schools have scraped spring games this year, including Texas, who got to know the state of Ohio in the semi -finals.

Matt Rhule, coach of Nebraska, canceled the Cornhuskers spring game because they deal with other programs that try to take off their players with a spring transmission window that branches off at the end of April.

However, Day is an appreciation for the public event that imitates elements of the environment in the horseshoe in autumn and sees it as part of the acclimatization for difference.

“We want to do the best to bring our boys to the stadium that day and feel what it is like to play in a game,” he said. We have many younger people who didn't play a lot of football. I don't want to lose this opportunity. “

Day expects that it will only be in spring practice later before the Buckeyes determine their format for the showcase.

“I think we have to see how the day is going in the first weeks of spring training,” said Day: “See how healthy we are and go from there.”

If the settlement of three antitrust law against the NCAA is also finally approved in April, the roster will also be smaller next season.

The buckeyes are limited to 105 players instead of wearing a little more than 120 as in the past seasons.

“You take into account that you cannot afford to hurt someone if we go 105 this summer,” said Day.

The spring exercises are scheduled to begin on March 17th.
